1. Who are the photographers in Cherry Grapes Photography?

Currently, the Lead Photographer is the owner (me), Amanda Hood.  I contract out a second shooter,   Erica, for the majority of my weddings. Dayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, CincinnatiDayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, Cincinnati  I trained her, so our shooting styles are extremely similar, making the images "fluid" for all of my brides.  Additionally, we have been working together now for almost six years, and have mastered the wedding day shooting process, making the day seamless for all of my brides.

2. What equipment do your bring on my wedding day?

We are Nikon shooters!!  Whoot-whoot!  We come equipped with two full frame bodies and a slew of lenses.  Currently, we bring: 50mm f/1.4 ART lens, 85mm f/1.4g, 90mm f/2.8, 135mm f/2d, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, 17-50 f/2.8, and a Lensbaby Composer--just for fun!  All of our lenses are high quality glass, manufactured by either Nikon, Tamron, or Sigma.

3. What type of wedding shooting experience do you bring to the table?

I have actually been shooting weddings for five years.  My growth, however, has been gradual.  I am a mother, with three children, and I struggled with the decision to miss out on so many Saturdays with my children each year.  I still try to maintain family stability by keeping my weddings limited to 15-20 per year.  As my kids get older, that may change.  But, for now, that's my comfy limit.  In addition to weddings, I have been shooting families and children, professionally, for six years, and as a hobbyist for 20 years.  I have been shooting boudoir photography for two years, with my other business, Moth to a Flame.  I have an MIS degree with a Photography minor, as well as an MBA.  This gives me the expertise I need to not only know how to shoot, but also how to effectively run a business.  A great photographer MUST have both of these skills for success!

4. What is your favorite style of photography?

I love vintage style photography!   Dayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, CincinnatiDayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, Cincinnati Obviously, this style of photography is on the rise, growing in popularity over the last few years.  And, I am consistently trying to stay current with the look and feel of vintage style, as well as maintain creativity.  I do not limit my style to only vintage, but, it is my favorite.  I do not care as much for traditional style photography, and my brides receive a very limited quantity of traditional shots from me from the wedding day.  I enjoy finding a perfect balance of posed and candid shots to create a "full" wedding portfolio for a bride and groom.

5. Where can I find wedding pricing on your site?

I enjoy the opportunity to sit down and have a consultation with every single bride, discussing budget and photography needs for the wedding day.  If you are drawn to my style, and might want my team to shoot your wedding, contact me!  We will sit down, talk, get to know each other a bit more, discuss your needs for your big day, and sign a contract to get you on my wedding schedule.  The deposit to book your wedding date is $500.  This comes off the total wedding package price.

6. I heard that your brides receive professional make up when hiring you.  Why?

Yes, professional make-up for the bride IS INCLUDED!!  I do this inclusion for two reasons.  First, my second shooter, Erica, happens to be a make-up artist, which she has actually been doing much longer than shooting.   Dayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, CincinnatiDayton, weddings, wedding photographer, photography, photos, images, love, bride, groom, marriage, packages, information, special, Columbus, Cincinnati So, I shoot alone for the first 1.5-2 hours of your time block with us, while Erica does your make-up.  After she is done, she packs up her make-up stash and unpacks her camera!  BAM!  We're just good like that.  The second reason is that brides not only deserve, but NEED, professional make-up on their wedding day.  Although you may think you can do your make-up as it needs to be for the camera, 9/10 brides will not put the make-up on heavy enough, making it seem as though they are wearing none at all.  This is the day to look amazing!  This is the day to look better than ever before!  So, I want to be able to make that happen for you.

7. How do I obtain my digital images with release to print?

The number images that I professionally edit from your wedding day depends on the package you choose.  Once I edit these images, and they have been reviewed by you at your proofing session (approximately six weeks after your wedding date), I will upload the images into an online gallery on my site.  This gallery has a private passcode that you may give to friends and/or family to view and order prints at their leisure!  If you choose to purchase the digital images from your day, they do come a la carte (see updated pricing on the Wedding Packages page).  All images come with a release to print, with the understanding that the images are for private use of the bride and groom, and no image is to ever be altered, cropped or re-edited without permission from the photographer (me :-)).

8. I have heard about the wedding day slideshow.  What is that?

The wedding day slideshow is a grouping of approximately 40 images that were taken on your wedding day, prior to your ceremony.  These images will be quickly sorted and uploaded to a laptop computer to be displayed in the cocktail area during your reception.  If your venue offers a big screen or large TV with HDMI or DVI capability, we can display this slideshow even bigger!

These images will play throughout your reception, on a loop, for your guests to get a glimpse of what you got to experience earlier that day! This is not just exciting for your guests, but for you, as well, as you get to see wedding teasers from that day ON THAT SAME DAY!!  These images will all be in a raw, unedited format. Don't worry...you had your make-up professionally done! ;-)
